Join the UK Contingent to the World Scout Moot in Ireland in 2021!
There's only a short time to left to register your interest for next year's World Scout Moot. 3rd May is the deadline.
We already have 5 people from Merseyside signed up for the Moot. It is important to note that registering by the 3rd May is not a commitment to attend. The Contingent will confirm its attendees in June at which time people will be able to decide if they are in the position to commit to the event. Putting in an application form now doesn't sign anyone up for payments or fully tie people down to the event should people have changes in their personal circumstances. The Scout Association is also running our inclusion fund process alongside recruitment so that attendees will know exactly how much they will be required to pay prior to committing.
So, what is it about a Moot that makes it so different?
The Moot brings like-minded Scouts from across the globe together, it's meant to be different to any other international camp you've been on. As a participant, your experience is made up of two halves; Trails and Base Camp. On a Trail, you will be in a patrol of 10 made up of Scouts from different nationalities. You'll really get to know your new international friends throughout the experience, learning about their culture, food, music and so much more. Together with your patrol, you’ll learn more about each other and
Ireland as you set off on an adventure you’ve picked. This could be surfing on Ireland’s west coast, cycling across the island or working on a sustainability project at a local campsite – the choice is yours.
Then all participants will come together at Malahide Castle for the Base Camp Section.
