Young Leaders are vital to our future; and we're developing support for them.

Young Leaders are a key part of the future of our Leadership Teams. This bring the case it is critical that we invest time and skills into enabling these young people with the skills and the knowledge to enable them to be the leaders of the future.

All Young Leaders must complete the Module A Training within 3 months of starting as a Young Leader they are encouraged to participate in their unique Training Scheme of a mixture of Training Modules and validation Missions. For Young Leaders to progress they need support from many directions; Group Leadership Teams, District Explorer Teams and County Training Teams.

Recognition of their progress are:

  • Young Leader Module A training badge
  • Young Leader missions
  • Young Leader 'Belt Buckle' once all training and missions are complete

Merseyside Scouts are committed to supporting the provision of the training and the validation of the Missions, as part of this commitment we have formed the Young Leader Training Team.

The County Young Leader Training Team have organised two Module A training sessions on 23rd March 2019; the morning session (9.30 to 12:00) will be at 13th Bebington Scout HQ in Bromborough and the afternoon session (13.30 to 16.00) at Quaker Meeting House, Liverpool.

These sessions will be an excellent opportunity for our young people to complete this Module whilst mixing with others beginning their leadership journey. Please encourage all Young Leaders and D of E volunteers who have not completed or who aren't already booked on a local Module A course to attend.

The team are really looking forward to seeing lots of young people on the day. There will be no charge for this event.
