Welcome to week five of our Taking You to The Top challenge. This is a programme to help with scouting at home and continuing to work towards your top awards.

Main Activity
Choose 1, this can be done across all sections tailored to suit age range.
Relight My Fire!
Hold a campfire with family, make s’mores, jam butty fritters, teach one other person a campfire song
Get Out of Bed!
Camp overnight in somewhere other than your bed! - tent, hammock, shelter, bivy, den - indoors or outdoors
Knot So Simple!
Complete a pioneering project - this can be big/small, a gadget, a knot display, be as creative as you like
Beavers
Tent Tales - put up a tent or build a den.
Tie a tasty reef knot – learn how to tie a classic reef knot with a tasty twist
Postcard Pictures - sketch a local point of interest and discover it’s meaning
Focus on nature - take photographs that capture nature at its best
Damper snakes - make a tasty bread dough with a classic backwoods cooking recipe
Bee bath - create a watering station for insects
Construct a campfire - collect and sort wood, build and safely light a fire e/
Emergency 999 - find out what to do in an emergency
Five easy knots
Cubs
It’s about to get intents - Help put up a tent or build a den and sleep in it for three nights, then help to take it down and pack it away properly.
Sleeping bag sleep out - set up your sleeping bag ready to sleep over
Relight my Fire - Learn how to light a fire safely.
Campfire cook off - cook something on a campfire with your parents using each of these methods on a stick, in a billycan and in the embers
Campfire capers - join in with a campfire sing song with your family you could even prepare some campfire sketches or skits to share with your family
Knot so fast - learn to tie five simple knots then time yourself to see how fast you can tie them. Can you break your own record?
Go Go Gadget - use the knots that you have learnt to make a camp gadget
Catapult crossfire - make a catapult and see how far you can make a paper ball fly.
Marsh mellow mountain - Build a structure out of mini marshmallows and spaghetti strong enough to hold an object
