Week Two TY2TT: Creative activities for Scouts and Explorers

Welcome to week two of our Taking You to The Top challenge. This is a programme to help with scouting at home and continuing to work towards your top awards. 

Week 2  Creative (This will link to Creative and Skills Challenge Awards & Creative element of Chief Scout Platinum & Diamond) 

Main Activity (Choose 1, this can be done across all sections tailored to suit age range if you have time to do more!) 

Be a Model Scout! Complete a model kit (appropriate to age) 

A week of Lockdown Capture "A week at home" this can be by picture, collage, presentation, story, vlog 

Time to Tik Tok With a family member record 1 appropriate Tik Tok video. This could be dance, karaoke, lip-syncing, comedy sketch (for over 13’s). 

It’s knot you it’s me 

Knots can be more than they seem. Discover the art of macramé and how different knots make different patterns. 

Hybrid heroes 

Share your own stories, then work together to draw heroes and act out their adventures.


Comic creators

Work with your group to make a comic that tells a story – who’s the main character, and how will they save the day?

Make natty mats and reuse refuse, learning the art of weaving along the way.

The restaurant of home comfort –
cook two dishes that you think of as ‘home comfort food’. It could be anything that makes them feel warm and comforted, or reminds them of home. Perhaps they could think about national dishes or family favourites. 

Scout life through a lens - Take 10 photo’s calendar or slide show to promote scouting. 

Pinhole pictures 

Make your own version of a pinhole camera – the very first photographic device. Can you still take the perfect shot?
