Every role volunteer in Scouting is required to complete some training which is tailored to their role. This training is fully explained on the UK Scouts Learning and Development pages of the website; and summarised below.
Your training can help you learn new skills to support you when you’re running your section, managing a dispute or even taking some Cubs out on the water for the first time. More information on developing your Personal Learning Plan can be found here.
Getting Started Online Training Courses
All Getting Started training should now be completed online, via the UK Scouts eLearning modules. Each of these modules can be accessed via the below links. Upon completion of the courses, please send your certificate of completion to our Training Team so that we can update your training records in Compass, our Membership Management System.

Getting Going Trainer Led Courses
If you're a Section Leader, having completed the above Getting Started online training, you then progress to attending the below trainer-led courses. Currently, these courses are being run as online meetings. You can follow the links below for more information and to book your place on each course.

First Response Training
In addition, it is a requirement for all Section Leaders to hold a valid First Response certificate. Districts are responsible for delivering this training.
